In a rare break from all the Guitar Hero and Rock Band news I post here, I thought I'd bring you some of the big announcements in the Halo franchise from Comic-con this week.
First up is Halo Legends. As you can see from the above image, it's going to be an animated feature, made up of several short episodes. It sounds similar to the Animatrix (animated episodes of The Matrix for those not in the know) in that each episode will be produced by a different production company and then combined to make the final product. There's some big studies behind this thing and the trailer makes it look really cool.
Hopefully we'll find out more soon but we do know it'll be out on DVD and Blu-ray early 2010.
Halo Legends trailer
Also worth checking out is the new trailer for Halo 3: ODST. This game is looking really awesome and while there's some stuff repeated from the previous trailer, there's still plenty of new stuff to make it worth taking a look at.
Definitely looking forward to this one.

Also announced was Halo: Waypoint. This is going to be a portal on XBox Live (and maybe online as well but it was a little unclear) to bring all the Halo related goodness to one place. Sounds interesting but not amazing.
