Activision has confirmed the release date of DJ Hero.
In North America the game will be released on October 27 and 'other territories' in late October. Hopefully those other territories include Australia. The IGN article also features a couple new screenshots of the game.
DJ Hero Release Date
Scott Guthrie, the head of MTV Games, gave an interview, hinting that not only is it likely that we'll see Rock Band 3 next year but we may also see another artist specific music game, along the lines of The Beatles: Rock Band as well. Of course he could just be talking about something along the lines of the AC/DC track pack. We're still waiting to get more details on the Pearl Jam version of Rock Band, so that may even be what he's talking about.
He also said that MTV was working with Microsoft and project Natal to see how that could be incorporated into the game. Could be interesting but at least it sounds like they're not just releasing the same game with new songs.

A couple of other quick updates. It's been revealed that while the DLC from Guitar Hero: World Tour will be compatible with 5. The new DLC won't be backwards compatible with World Tour because of the new functionality.
So the Rolling Stones pack that was just announced for GH5's launch (which includes live versions of: Satisfaction, Under My Thumb, I'm Free, Prodigal Son & You Gotta Move), will only work with the new game and upcoming Guitar Hero & Band Hero games.
