IGN have reviewed LEGO Rock Band for the DS and surprisingly it seems like it's one of the best versions!
It sounds very similar to Rock Band Unplugged on PSP in terms of gameplay but with added multiplayer. There's obviously no song downloading options in only room for 25 songs on the DS but they still gave it the very good score of 8.4.

In Rock Band 3 news Dhani Harrison, the son of George Harrison from The Beatles has been talking about the game.
He says that "I'm working on 'Rock Band 3' and making the controllers more real so people can actually learn how to play music while playing the game."
It seems unlikely that the old instruments wouldn't work with any upcoming versions of the game but it sounds like there'll be some big improvements when the next iteration of Rock Band games arrive.

And in response to the saga with No Doubt suing Activision, it seems like Stephen Smith, a partner specialising in entertainment and video game litigation thinks that it could hurt Activision, stating "If you get a bad name with a couple of well-respected artists, you’re going to have trouble with all of them.”
It'll be interesting to follow this story, especially if any potential artists turn down the chance to appear in future games.
