Star Wars games seem to be an enigma in the video games industry; they always sell well and get fairly positive reviews. But overall none have really encapsulated what the fans really want. They have always been lacking in some regard.
But finally Star Wars fans can rejoice, the force unleashed is like no other Star Wars game before it.
The force unleashed is set in between episodes 3 and 4 as you take on the role of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice Star killer. Initially the game focuses on carrying out Vader’s orders and hunting down the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy.
But much like the George Lucas’ films many twists and turns occur along the way to offer you as the gamer a very complex and entertaining story line. As Star Killers journey unravels you begin to realise that this is possibly the most intriguing and troubled star wars character ever created by Lucas and gives the games story a real cinematic feel to it.
Now when it comes to game play Force does not disappoint, more often than not you are encountered with a huge number of opponents at once and the game never suffers, even in the ultra slick environments the frame rate never gives.
The speed at which this game moves is another factor to applaud, Star Killer is so quick and it’s an absolute blast to zip around with a lightsaber in hand and using a huge array of force powers at your disposal.
The game scale is huge and you get to explore a very diverse array of landscapes including star ships, lush rainforests and garbage heaps. You will never get bored with the many different levels in this game.
Overall it is not a very long experience and you can finish it in a few sittings, but the game offers exceptional replay ability by offering two different endings and multiple items to collect, like different colour lightsabers. Which is pretty cool indeed.
Star Wars: The force unleashed is probably the best Star Wars game ever created, mainly due to the unbelievably interesting and exciting storyline and characters. But it also offers gamers unbeatable playability and super slick visuals. Plus who doesn’t like swinging a lightsaber around and pushing stormtroopers off cliffs.
